Description
The circular tour starts in the village center of Amden. Follow Kirchstrasse past the Amden indoor swimming pool and the parish church of St. Gallus. At the end of the road, the hiking trail branches off to the left, where you soon cross the first stream: Fallenbach. Continue along the meadow, briefly on Hofstettenstrasse, and cross the Sellbach again on a small road. Turn left at the next fork, where you cross the Sellbach once again before finally approaching the reservoir.
Electricity from Hydropower
The Muslen power station reservoir collects water from the Fallenbach, Rombach and Sellbach streams. With a production of 4.5 GWh of electricity per year, the power plant covers the electricity needs of around 930 households.
From the reservoir, the trail leads along the meadow via Lehni and continues along Bächlistrasse until it crosses the Rombach. The loop ends at the fork in the path and you return along the same route back to the village center of Amden.
