Description
This one-hour hike leads brings you directly into to the unique Hinter Höhi high moorland area. After taking the chairlift up to the Mattstock mountain station, you set off on a wide, relatively flat hiking trail through the idyllic mountains high above Amden.
Foray Through the High Moor
The section of the trail via Hintere Höhi is characterized by its enchanting flora. Swampy high moorland, spruce and mountain pine forests characterize the natural landscape. Depending on the season, gentians, carnations, insectivorous sundew, blueberries and alpine roses grow here. Also, a wide variety of algae, frogs, alpine newts and insects have found their habitat in the Hintere Höhi.
Take a Rest – Have a Barbecue
What about a barbecue high up in the mountains? The Hinter Höhi fireplace will offer you a great location to set up a barbecue or a picnic surrounded by spruce and mountain pine forests.
