Description
Amden is located on the sun terrace high above Lake Walensee. Halfway up between the lake and the peaks of the Churfirsten mountains, it offers ideal conditions for winter excursions, far away from the hustle and bustle of the ski resorts.
Perfect Introduction to Snowshoeing
If you've never tried snoweshoeing before, this trail is perfect for you: not too long and not too steep. The Altschen trail is the easiest and shortest route in Amden, and runs from Arvenbüel via Brittertannen and Schwaderloch up to Alp Altschen.
Circular Hike with Mountain Panorama
The snow-covered pine forests and the icy Beerenbach stream present themselves in their most beautiful winter splendor on the Altschen trail snowshoe tour. Once you reach the top, you can enjoy a unique panorama of the Leistkamm and the surrounding mountains. The last part after passing Alp Altschen runs downhill to Grossriet and finally back to the starting point at Arvenbüel.
